The Mechanicsville Library is a side addition of the Romae T. Powell Juvenile Justice Center with its own parking area and entrance. Originally constructed in 2002, the new 8,000 square-foot renovation features a modern light and dark gray color scheme that is balanced with honey maple wood furnishings throughout. Numerous windows work to brighten the branch as well as give the illusion of it being a larger space. There are two study rooms on level two complimented by a large meeting room on level one. Mechanicsville Library is the hidden treasure of the community, fully equipped with the latest audio visual communication and presentation technology, plus several computer and collaborative areas for Adults, Teens and Children.
