Read Across America is a yearly campaign that began almost 20 years ago. This campaign celebrates reading and aims to improve national literacy rates amongst teens and children through diverse and inclusive books, events, partnerships, and reading resources. Libraries throughout the United States host programs and arrange displays in March, which is National Reading Month, to encourage youth to read more. Read Across America Week is celebrated during the first week of March and Read Across America Day is celebrated on the first weekday of the month. Families were invited to the Best Buy Teen Tech Center and encouraged to read aloud classic Dr. Seuss books and share their thoughts on them.
