Dedren Snead of SUBSUME visited the Best Buy Teen Tech Center last week and introduced us to Afrofuturism: an innovative field that intertwines technology and African-American history and culture. The students from the Taylor Made Foundation were instructed on AI through virtual courses. They rotated between two stations: Minecraft Course and Microsoft Copilot. Through the Minecraft Course, the students were able to earn certificates. At station two, students completed a worksheet to guide them in envisioning their versions of a Better Atlanta and Futuristic Atlanta and creating a prompt to enter in Copilot. Once completed, they entered the prompts and had AI render their vision. At the end of the program, students entered a raffle for various prizes.
