To celebrate National Poetry Month, Central Library's children's librarian hosted an Animal Poetry Storytime and Craft program. Children read a story filled with poems about animals, and then created poems about their favorite animals. According to UNICEF USA, "Poetry supports early childhood development, helping to enhance language acquisition, boost cognitive development and foster emotional intelligence through rhythm, rhyme and creative expression."
