August is American Artist Appreciation Month, a time to celebrate the creativity and cultural impact of artists across the United States. People such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Andy Warhol, and Jean-Michel Basquiat are just a few examples of the many Americans artists that have helped to shape the nation’s identity and inspire other painters, photographers, and even digital creators.
How can you celebrate American Artist Appreciation Month? You can participate by doing any of the following:
- visiting a local museum or art gallery like the Breman Museum
- attending an art program or class at any of our branches
- checking out any materials related to art
You can even check out the Central Artist Corner and a special art exhibit here at the Central Branch which showcases several artists and their work.
Feel free to check out any of the following items below for more materials about American art and artists.
