Back to School Bash!

As the end of July draws near, it's time to prepare for the Atlanta Public Schools' Back to School Bash!

This event is held at the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC), and it's important to remember to register in advance for this end of summer Atlanta tradition.

This year the Back to School Bash will be on Saturday, July 31st, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m OUTSIDE on the Northside Drive side of GWCC. Experienced parents know to get to the Back to School Bash early for the best chance at the most giveaways, and to bring empty bags or backpacks for carrying away all the printed information and supplies available.

As always, taking MARTA is the best option, but if you're unvaccinated or avoiding crowds, this year APS is offering a drive-through experience. After registering in advance, drive to 362 Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard (also known as the GWCC Marshalling Yard) to be guided through the lines.

Information on many of the online resources offered by Fulton County Library System to help with homework and more will be available. All APS students can use their CLASS PASS accounts to access a variety of digital library content for free. This includes all Infobase platforms and World Book Encyclopedia Online, both of which fully integrate with Google Classroom. Representatives from Paper.co will be at the Back to School Bash to promote awareness of our online tutoring platform, and will have giveaways for as long as supplies last.

Of course CLASS PASS resources are great for school, but why not help your students explore what the library has to offer for fun? Access Video for Kids, Hoopla, and all our other educational resources offer a variety of options to break up any possible end-of-summer boredom.
