Susan is the Corgi owned by Princess/Queen Elizabeth II of England. Susan narrates and describes what it is like to be the dog of Princess/Queen Elizabeth II. Readers learn about royal family pets and meet Susan and her dog family in the first chapter. Princess Elizabeth received Susan as a gift in 1947, six years before she became Queen. Susan gives the inside scoop of Princess Elizabeth’s and Prince Philip’s romance and fairytale wedding. Then, she details how Princess Elizabeth became Queen, including her coronation. In addition, Susan gives insider information about Queen Elizabeth’s family life, including the birth of Prince Charles and Princess Anne. The black and white illustrations in the book are beautiful and make Princess/Queen Elizabeth’s life look so natural. Also, there are great resources at the back of the book, where you can learn more about Queen Elizabeth’s corgis.
