Ahmad Ayah on Big Nate in the Zone by Lincoln Pierce

"From the first part of the book big Nate left his homework at his friend Teddy's house. Teddy spills syrup on Nates homework. Nate gets mad and tries to chill with a water bottle, but the social studies teacher tells him to throw the bottle away. He throws it and misses the trash can and the principal.

Later, his other friend Chad comes by while Nate is writing a book and says, “IMAGINE IF WE COULD FLY.” Nate tries, and he busts a bean bag chair, and the librarian gives him detention.

Nates gang wants to perform a show, but Nate has detention. He asks the principal if he could take away the detention since the bean bag chair was fixed.

They practice, but one of Nate friends, Artur, finds that he was insulted by Nate. They perform, but their lead singer, Artur, quit. So, they try letting Nate sing, but he forgot the lyrics.

The performance does not go well, and they get teased.

The reason I like this book is because it starts of real bad as in bad luck then it goes good luck for a little then it goes straight back."

Iohn Yeshua El on Evil Spy school Stuart Gibbs

"Ben Ripley is a 13-year-old boy who is training to be a spy. He’s pretty good at it so far (He already saved the spy school from exploding!) But it’s not enough since he accidentally blew up the principal’s office by misplacing the paintball bombs. BOOM! Bye to the principal’s office. Every action comes at a cost, and that cost for Ben was being expelled from spy school!

Ben is heartbroken because he must go back to his middle school. As he is walking down the hall, he meets an old friend, Joshua, who happens to be the older brother of the man who tried to blow up his school! Ben was shoved into a limo, where he and Joshua have a talk about SPYDER, an evil spy school. Ben feels trapped so he reluctantly agrees to join Spyder and tries to come up with an escape plan. Suddenly, gas came out of the vent, and knocks Ben out.

He wakes up in an unfamiliar home. As he walks down some stairs, he sees a boy named Nefarious and a ballerina named Ashley Sparks who tell the very confused Ben all about Spyder. As it turns out, Ben is at the world headquarters for Spyder. He pretends to enjoy while still trying to escape. While Ben is busy, Ashley and Nefarious are freeing Murray Hill, Bens enemy. Ben is being forced to train as an evil spy. His friends at good spy schools are save him by destroying Spyder for good with a missile.

The reason I am interested in this book is because I love books about spies."

Judah Ayah on Fast Break by Mike Lupica

"Jayson Barnes is fast on the court but uses his speed in other places, too. With his mom gone, he is forced to live on his own at twelve years old. Jayson tries to stay low-key and avoid being picked up by child protective services, but sometimes you need to take risks in order to survive. When you take risks, eventually you are going to get caught.

The reason I like this book is because he is finally caught. I know he doesn’t want to be caught, but you should not live by your self at twelve years old. I read this book about a month ago along with five other books of Mike Lupica's."

Leot Rodriquez on I Survived: The Battle of D-Day by Lauren Tarshis

"This book is about a boy who survived D-Day and how he also helped with the battle of D-Day. There was a boy who lived where the Germans took over. He tried to sell his leather soccer ball at a park with cut down trees where other sellers were. The only leather worker in town was named Boris so he wanted to leave it on Boris’s table. Boris said no, so he left the shop and struck a stick in the ground. The boy imagined the time when he couldn't say hello to his teacher because she was running away, shot by the Germans, and fell and rolled into the river.

The boy went back to the shop and put the that he got on his seventh birthday on Boris’s table. Boris told him no again, but her begged Boris so that he could get something for his mother's birthday. Boris snatched the ball and gave him ten coins. On his way home, the boy went to the bakery that the German generals go to and ordered fresh Madeleines for his mother. Then, a bunch of Germans on motorcycle’s came out of no where, so he jump into the bushes. The boy thought there must be someone going to be arrested. He saw the madeleines, or what was left of them, near a gate and got sad and angry. He felt like stomping on the Nazis Madeleines with his boots, but all he could do is cry. A pigeon came over , and he said to the pigeon, "You might as well have them," but the pigeon sad, "co co" and flew away.

I like this book because it is educational, and it is cool to hear about events that really happened."

Nevaeh Hall on The Underdogs by Sara Hammel

"A popular teen named Annabel Harper’s body was discovered by the pool at in elite tennis club. Most people were haunted by her death, but so people wanted to find out what happened to her. There was a girl named Lisa Deenessen who was standing alone in the pools view, and she had strange look on her face. Half smile, half indifference.

I’m interested in this book because it’s a mystery and I like mystery books. I’m also looking forward to finding out what caused Annabel Harper’s death."

Noah Moreland on Lionel Messi: Top-Scoring Soccer Star by John Albert Torres

"I want to read this book because Soccer is my favorite sport in the world, and I want to learn more about soccer. I want to read this book because Messi plays in the World cup, Scores goals, he does his celebration dance.

Messi started playing because he wanted to keep up with his older brothers. Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho celebrate their team’s second goal during the May 1, 2005 match in Albacete. At only seventeen years old, Messi was scoring goals against teams who were bigger and had played longer than he was. Sometimes, all of his opponents can do is stand and watch Messi take the ball."

Omoleye A. McCullum on The Harry Potter Series by J. K. Rowling

"My favorite book is Harry Potter. Harry Potter was authored by J.K. Rolling which is about a boy named Harry Potter who lives with his aunt Petunia  and uncle Vernon and their  son Dudley Harry’s cousin."

Terry Dent on Dog Man: Mothering Heights by Dav Pilkey

"I like this book because it’s funny, heartwarming, and very cool. I would recommend this book because it can teach you to look at life differently. This book is like a reminder there is still some good in the world, and it makes you want to do good too. In conclusion you should definitely read this book."

Tye Dent on Big Nate: What Could Possibly Go Wrong by Lincoln Pierce

"Big Nate is a book about a mischievous 6 grader who always seem to get himself in trouble."

Wes Allen on Asterix by Goscinny

"Dramatic music, Dramatic music, Dramatic music, Dramatic music.

My name is “Wes”, and today, I’m talking about ASTERIX (collecting 3 classic graphic novels.)
Asterix is a Gaules, and so are his friends, Obelix, Panoramix, Cacofonix, and Vitalstatistix. (Why are these names so hard to pronounce?)

I’m probably not going to read it again, but this is why I like it: it’s dramatic, and funny. Asterix and Obelix go on missions, mostly because of the Romans. Obelix is large and strong, but has a soft spot for his small dog, Dogmatix.

Asterix, the hero of these adventures, is small, but he has this potion of strength, which sounds a lot like Minecraft, and has a sword. That’s technically it. We could use more of that, Dramatic music."

Yah'De Ayah on Big Nate: Playback Time by BY Lincoln Pierce

"I like that this book is funny and dramatic.

Nate gets good pay back because Marcus wrote loser on his forehead. Nate, also, does not like his social studies teacher. One funny moment is Marcus getting punched by a punching bag, and one dramatic moment is Nate wanting a dog and screaming when someone else gets a dog."
