Summertime is undoubtedly the busiest time of the year for public libraries across the country, and thus, is when we launch our two-month long summer reading program! The 2025 theme at Central Library was Color My World with Microsoft, a technology-driven initiative born through a generous donation from Microsoft for our Summer Reading program. The Best Buy Teen Tech Center kicked off our programming with the Best Buy Geek Squad Academy, a two-day camp where youth ages 10-18 could learn, practice, and create with innovative technology through Coding, Game Design, Photography, and more to become a Junior Agent. The youth rotated through several sessions, received freebies, and were presented their Junior Agent certificate. The Georgia heat got the best of Central Library’s cooling system that week, but that did not stop our staff, Geek Squad volunteers, or the youth from having the best experience. Despite the heat, over 100 kids and teens attended the two-day camp! See some of the festivities pictured below.
