CRAFTer Dark – September: Ginkgo Leaf Butterflies

Milton Library hosts CRAFTer Dark, a monthly program geared toward adults. The goal is to provide programs that make art/crafts accessible to all skill levels in such a way that each participant produces a stunning piece, even with no prior experience.

Our latest CRAFTer Dark was a fluttering success! Adults gathered for an evening of creativity, conversation, and a little leafy magic. We started with hand-picked, freshly pressed and primed ginkgo leaves—already beautiful on their own—and transformed them into dazzling butterflies (and peacocks) using acrylic paints and paint markers.

The results? A kaleidoscope of vibrant wings, shimmering feathers, and a few surprise creations that pushed the boundaries of "ginkgo-as-canvas." Whether they went bold and graphic or soft and whimsical, every artist left with a tiny, one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

CRAFTer Dark is all about mixing art, fun, and a dash of grown-up time after hours. Stay tuned for our next creative escape!
