CRAFTernoon – August: Ocean “Paper Painting”

Calling all tweens and teens ages 10–17! Join us for CRAFTernoon at the Milton Library one Saturday each month for an hour of fun, hands-on art and craft projects. No experience needed—just bring your imagination! We explore a variety of mediums like watercolors, acrylics, oil pastels, clay, and even paper quilling. Each month is a new adventure in creativity. Registration is required, and all skill levels are welcome!

August's program was a farewell to summer with one last visit to the beach! We created a mixed media piece, first painting the sky and sand with acrylics, and then adding a torn-paper collage to represent the ocean waves. Final details included using bubble wrap and white paint to give the appearance of ocean foam and optionally adding details like birds with a permanent marker.
