Closing out the year can be a busy time for many people in the workplace. It can also be a hectic time in our personal lives. Sometimes there is almost a physical feeling of slowing down, with expectations of upcoming holidays on the horizon.
Also, during the seemingly slow-to-arrive holidays, many people look forward to catching up with a good book, time to attend performances, and shared moments at other festive and charity events. You may be like me, a good book advocate. If so, don’t forget that the 2025 One Book, One Read event, with the author, will be held at the Central Library on Saturday, October 25th, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The 2025 book selection is Good Dirt by Charmaine Wilkerson. If you read fast, you can still share the moment.
And, as always, the Fulton County Library System offers an array of books and other materials; online resources; and programming for children, teens, and adults. The System has 34 libraries, each one with its own “personality” and community feel. Take some time to visit and browse all the various locations.
Additionally, staff are busy preparing wonderful activities, with some surprises, for you in 2026. Planning has already started, and some commitments have already been made. Other things are being worked on by staff with careful attention to detail.
Therefore, stay tuned and check periodically for information and updates. Come to the Library; it’s where we know a few things!
