Exploring Visual Storytelling in The Art of the Image Exhibition

The Buckhead Library invites the community to experience The Art of the Image, a captivating photography exhibition by Atlanta-based photographer Nathan Dean.

On view from November 1st through December 7th, this exhibition showcases Dean's ability to find the beauty of the human face, emotion, and storytelling power of photography, inviting visitors to see the world through a new lens. The exhibition will be available for viewing during regular business hours. An opening reception/artist talk will take place on November 15th at 2:00 PM. About the Photographer:

Nathan Dean photographer

"Nathan became passionate about photography after retiring from a distinguished career as a university physics professor, dean, and vice president.

Since then, his fine art photos have been acquired by collectors, published in national media, and shown in over seventy solo, invited, and juried shows, wining multiple awards. He has served the Atlanta Center for Photography as a member of its Board and its Executive Committee, and he has been co-director of the art program at the Buckhead Library."

  • Academic and administrative career (Professor of Physics; Dean of Science, Vice Provost, Vice President) at major universities (Iowa State University, University of Georgia, SUNY Binghamton, and Florida Atlantic University)
  • Studied photography with Jack Wild, Margo Pinkerton, and Arnold Zann
