Happy Lunar New Year

Happy Lunar New Year from NESO! February 17th marked the beginning of the new year according to the lunisolar calendar, which uses both the sun and moon's position to determine dates. This is considered one of the most important holidays in China, as well as widely celebrated across East and Southeast Asia. Each year of the Chinese zodiac is represented by an animal, and 2026 is the Year of the Horse! The horse symbolizes energy, perseverance, and strength, which is set to bring rapid breakthroughs. To celebrate, NESO held a special storytime featuring Lunar New Year picture books and a horse puppet craft for the kids to make. We wish all of our patrons good fortune in the year ahead!
