Let your imagination flow as harpist Myron Leonard fills the library with beautiful music. Participants will be invited to draw, doodle, or paint what the music inspires - whether it’s colors, shapes or scenes. No art skill required - just bring your creativity. All supplies will be provided.
Myron Leonard is a senior at Charles R. Drew Charter School in Atlanta, Georgia. He began playing the harp at age 11 under the guidance of his teachers Elisabeth Remy Johnson and Molly O’Roark. In February 2025, he was featured on the Kelly Clarkson Show celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Urban Youth Harp Ensemble, where he’s been an active member since the 6th grade. Myron placed first in the Summer 2024 Charleston International Music Competition in his instrument and age category.
In 2021, Myron won the Atlanta Harp Composition Competition with his piece "Follow the Wind," which is available for purchase as a digital PDF on the Atlanta Harp Center’s website. He attended the prestigious Interlochen Arts Summer Camp in 2022, where he was part of the Interlochen Symphony Orchestra and served as principal harpist for the intermediate age group. Myron also plays the piano and tuba. He successfully auditioned for the GMEA All-State Full Orchestra and Concert Band in 2024-25. Myron participated in GMEA Solo and Ensemble from fall 2022 through spring 2025, receiving multiple superior ratings.
Myron’s musical interests extend to conducting and composing. He is a member of the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra for the 2025-2026 season. He’ s been a member of the Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra, where he was the principal harpist for the 2023-2025 season. He attended the Sewanee Summer Music Festival in 2023-2025, where he worked with Gaye Leblanc, principal harpist of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. Myron also performed at the Talent Development Program for the 30th Anniversary concert at Spivey Hall and for the 40th Anniversary of the Whitney Houston Foundation Gala.
