Micro Reviews: What are FCLS Librarians Reading?

FCLS Library Staff shares what they've been reading lately!

Jay-Z: Made in America, by Eric Michael Dyson

By Adrienne Duris, Youth Services Librarian

I am currently reading Jay-Z: Made in America, by Eric Michael Dyson.  I am about halfway done. It is pretty good especially with that Dyson tries to show how Jay-Z’s work is part poetry and part social justice.

Finding Home Again, by Brenda Jackson

Aretha Kendrick

I needed to escape from the news so I went back and reread my favorite author, Brenda Jackson (I have her entire collection but enjoyed reading on Libby). I love her books because they have a strong family connection as well as great love and support for anyone connected to them. #romancelover

Dignity: Seeking Respect in Back Row America, by Chris Arnade

By Vickie Frazer, Library Associate

I recently read Dignity: Seeking Respect in Back Row America, by Chris Arnade. I highly recommend it to people that work at the library, as well as people who use the library. The people that work at the library extend dignity every day to everyone who comes into the library. Arnade is a photojournalist that takes long walks in neighborhoods all over the country.
