Milton Library’s 7th Annual Volunteer Recognition Program

Milton Library was proud to host our 7th Annual Volunteer Recognition Program on Saturday, February 14th at 4:30 PM. This event celebrates the invaluable contributions of our volunteers who have dedicated their time and effort to support the library and its community. This program is normally scheduled for the last Saturday in January each year, but was delayed to February 14th due to weather closures.

History of Volunteer Recognition

Milton Library began hosting on-site recognition events in January 2017, honoring volunteers from 2015 and 2016. Since then, we have held recognition programs in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2024, 2025, and 2026. Unfortunately, we had to pause the events in 2021 due to the COVID-19 outbreak and in 2022 due to a facility maintenance issue.

Community-Based Learning (CBL) Volunteering

We honor various groups we have partnered with for Community-Based Learning (CBL) Volunteering, including:

  • Lionheart Works
  • Eaton Academy
  • Individuals from the Milton Community

In the past, we have also partnered with:

  • Jacob’s Ladder
  • Fulton County School System

These partnerships have provided opportunities for social skills development, self-determination, confidence-building, and new skills and experience acquisition.

Celebrating Community Service

We also celebrate Community Service Day with Milton High School and provide their students with a place to give back to their community by cleaning up/shelf-reading the shelves, inventorying our board game collection, and assisting with other small tasks around the branch during their day of service.

Friends of Milton Library

We recognize the significant contributions of the Friends of Milton Library. Their support has enabled us to offer:

  • 81+ unique programs in 2025
