Are you a writer or someone trying to start writing, looking for community, motivation, or a fresh spark of inspiration? Join us at the Milton Library for our monthly Writers Support Network, a creative writing workshop designed to support writers of all levels.
When: First Tuesday of each month
Time: 6:00 PM – ~7:45 PM
Location: Milton Library
Facilitator: Alex White, author of Salvagers Trilogy and The Starmetal Symphony series
This almost two-hour workshop, led by published author Alex White, offers a unique space where creativity and encouragement take center stage. We recently sat down with Alex to discuss his thoughts on writing, books, and the library. Check it out.
What to Expect:
Hour One: Writing Time
We begin with a quiet writing session. Whether you’re working on a novel, poem, memoir, or starting something brand new, this is your time to stretch your imagination. Need a little nudge? A writing prompt will be provided to help you get started. You're also welcome to revisit ongoing projects or simply let your pen (or keyboard) lead the way.
Hour Two: Sharing & Discussion
Writers are invited to read up to five minutes of their work aloud. But this isn’t your typical critique session — instead, we engage in a moderated discussion that emphasizes support, curiosity, and connection. Participants ask thoughtful questions, share similar struggles, and offer perspectives that foster growth rather than judgment.
This group is about progress, not perfection. Whether you're plotting your first short story or polishing your third novel, you'll find a welcoming circle of fellow writers who get what it means to wrestle with the page.
No registration required — just bring your work, your curiosity, and your passion for writing.
Join us at the next session and take a step closer to your creative goals.
