On August 1st Ponce de Leon Library held the 17th Annual Ponce de Leon Spelling Bee. There were eight participants this year. The kids swept through four rounds of prepared words and then the next round was naming the states. The winning word was Maine. The winner of the spelling bee was Samuel Ross. Samuel is in the red shirt. Second place was Asher Smith (in the orange shirt) and third place was Meryl Lewis (not pictured). We thank all the spellers for participating and hope to see them next year!
