Watch the Perseid Meteor Shower – August 12 &13

Perseid Meteor Shower 2025—When, Where, and How to See It

You can see the Perseids meteor shower in metro Atlanta.  The meteor shower will be most visible the night of August 12th into the morning of August 13th.  The most activity should be between 9 PM and 1 AM of August 12th.

The visibility of the Perseids started July 17th and will go until August 24th.  The Perseids are composed of bright, fast-moving meteors that the Earth passes through.  They are the debris of Comet 109/Swift-Tuttle.

The Perseids will reach peak visibility just after a total solar eclipse which will be visible from Greenland, Iceland and Spain.  The partial solar eclipse will be visible from western Europe and parts of Canada and the U.S.

Enjoy the night sky.
