What To Read Before DragonCon 2022

The list of nominees for the 2022 Dragon Awards have been announced! These annual awards are given out to writers and works during the Southeast's largest fan convention, DragonCon.  If you'd like to read any of the nominees, click here to browse our Dragon Award Nominees 2022 collection on Overdrive. Download the Libby app to listen or read on your favorite device. Books are listed in this Overdrive/Libby collection by author's last name and availability first.

If you've already read up on all the 2022 nominees, or need to wait a bit for a copy on hold, why not take a look at one of our author samplers related to a DragonCon guest? Some of these authors will be in Atlanta, right down the street from Central Library all Labor Day weekend, talking about their past and future works with fans! Try something by 2022 Literary Guest of Honor Nnedi Okorafor, or dig into the works of DragonCon guests past like Anne McCaffrey. Our page of instantly available content is always adding new author sampler lists, so be sure to bookmark your favorite sections for more DragonCon author guest content as Labor Day weekend approaches.

Don't see a Dragon Award nominated title in the Overdrive collection? Not all publishers make their works available for libraries to license in downloadable format. Search our catalog for a copy in analog ( a. k. a, hardcover ). All residents and employees of the City of Atlanta or Fulton County can access award nominees by signing up for a Fulton County Library System card online or in person. Have a card but forgot your password/pin? All cards have the pin CHANGEME until your account profile is updated on our website.

After you read or listen to the nominees, don't forget that you can vote for your favorites by requesting a ballot on the DragonCon website. This Atlanta tradition has a rich history of predicting future national trends in genre fiction; check out these lists of previous winners below, and be sure to place holds on your favorites with your library card.
