Steps to troubleshooting Overdrive/Libby

  • Turn on and off the device totally.
  • Feel free to contact Libby/Overdrive support at the bottom of the page. The library pays for this service, and many times the issue can only be solved by this service.
  • Make sure your online digital card was correctly converted to a permanent card number in the application.
  • How are you accessing Overdrive/Libby.
    1. If using the “Overdrive” app, delete the older app and download Libby
    2. If using the Libby app, delete the app and download it again.
    3. If using a laptop and fulcolibrary.org, check to see if the Libby app is on your reading device.
    4. If an older Kindle paperwhite, you MUST have the newest version of the Libby app on another device (typically a smart phone) for the paperwhite to work.

The majority of Overdrive/Libby use errors are related to errors with the device.
