Fulton County Government’s 6th-11th LEED Gold library projects are: Dogwood Library, Kirkwood Library, Washington Park Library, West End Library, Evelyn G. Lowery Library at Cascade, and Sandy Springs Library;  the 9th LEED Silver library project is the Roswell Library.

On October 15, 2020 all Fulton County Library System’s, Group 1 Library Projects were awarded LEED Gold or LEED Silver certification.

These Group 1 library projects are being awarded the prestigious LEED Gold and LEED Silver certifications developed by the U.S. Green Building Council. 2M Design Consultants, Inc. (2M), FulcoLibrary's program-wide LEED Administrator on behalf of the CBRE-HEERY/RUSSELL JV Team, would like to extend our congratulations to Fulton County Government, Fulton County Library System, and Hogan Construction Group, the awarded design-build company along with their entire team for these beautifully designed and renovated state-of-the-art high performance green libraries.

Credit goes to the design teams of McMillan Pazdan Smith Architects & Chasm Architecture LLC, with a special thank you to Will Bryant, AIA, LEED AP, in concert with the entire professional team for the design and renovation of these LEED High Performance Green Libraries.

Six libraries, including the Dogwood, Washington Park and West End Libraries, located in District 4 and represented by Fulton County Commissioner Natalie Hall, the Kirkwood Library, located in District 5 and represented by Fulton County Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington, Jr., Esq., the Sandy Springs Library located in District 3 and represented by Fulton County Commissioner Lee Morris and the Evelyn G. Lowery Library at Cascade, located in District 6 and represented by Fulton County Commissioner Joe Carn are now LEED Gold certified.

The Roswell Library, located in District 2 and represented by Fulton County Commissioner Bob Ellis is now LEED Silver certified.

Once the LEED certificates and green building plaques are received, Mr. Al Collins, the Library Bond Program Administrator, along with Mrs. Gayle H. Holloman, the Library Director, will plan a virtual event to recognize these great accomplishments.  For years to come, visitors to the Group 1 libraries will be able to view the LEED Gold and LEED Silver plaques on display at the entrance to these very important libraries. Congratulations to our Fulton County team members: Library Bond Administration, Purchasing and Contract Compliance, DREAM, F.C. I.T., Library Staff, the Program Management Team, and Library Consultants who worked very hard to realize this certification using an Integrative Design Process where early community input involving all stakeholders provided a unique design for each community library.
