Fulton County Library System and Central Library to Host Best-Selling Authors Ibram X. Kendi and Kimberly Jones for Special Author Talk

Authors will be available for book signing and Q & A
ATLANTA, GA - The Fulton County Library System and the Central Library in downtown Atlanta are thrilled to announce a special author talk featuring renowned authors Ibram X. Kendi and Kimberly Jones. The event, in partnership with Brave+Kind Books, will take place on Sunday, January 28th, from 5 - 6:30 pm at the Central Library.
 
Ibram X. Kendi, a National Book Award-winning author, will be sharing his book "Barracoon: Adapted for Young Readers." With fifteen books to his name, including nine New York Times bestsellers, Dr. Kendi is a highly respected figure in the literary world. He is the Andrew W. Mellon Professor in the Humanities at Boston University and the director of the BU Center for Antiracist Research. Dr. Kendi's notable works include "Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America" and "How to Be an Antiracist." Time magazine recognized his influence by naming him one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2020. Additionally, he was awarded a 2021 MacArthur Fellowship, commonly known as the Genius Grant.
 
Kimberly Jones, an American author and filmmaker, will also be present at the event. Known for her New York Times bestselling young adult novel, "I'm Not Dying With You Tonight," Jones gained widespread attention for her viral video "How Can We Win" during the George Floyd protests. Her book was a finalist for an NAACP Image Award in 2020 and has received numerous accolades. Jones' latest work, co-authored with Gilly Segal, "I'm Not Dying With You Tonight," was nominated for an NAACP Image award, Georgia Author Of The Year award, and the Cybils Awards.
 
During the event, Brave+Kind Books will have the authors' books available for purchase, with the opportunity for attendees to have their copies signed. This is a unique chance for book enthusiasts and fans of Kendi and Jones to engage with these influential authors.
