2026 BBTTC FASFA Workshop

It’s almost that time of the year that causes worry in high school seniors and college students: FAFSA. However, there is no need to worry because the Best Buy Teen Tech Center has you covered with a FAFSA Workshop. Leading the presentation was Adrienne, an outreach representative from Georgia Student Finance Commission.

First, Adrienne started with all the ways students can fund college: scholarships, grants, work-study programs, and loans. For Georgia students, she focused on the HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarships. These scholarships give Georgia residents who pass the requirements the opportunity to afford college. Unfortunately, HOPE and Zell do not cover everything, hence why high school seniors need to apply for scholarships. Teens were encouraged to apply to multiple scholarships as they can, as the more scholarships they earn, the closer college will be fully funded.

After the presentation, Adrienne opened the floor to any questions. Many of the teens asked great questions, such as how to find legit scholarships, HOPE and Zell Miller requirements, and what exactly HOPE and Zell Miller cover for financial aid.

Ultimately, this workshop was great at educating high school students about financial aid and helping them prepare for scholarships and grants. The teens left the Best Buy Teen Tech Center well prepared and ready to apply for scholarships.
