The Fulton County Library System is proud to join libraries across the country in celebrating National Library Week, recognized this year from April 19–25, 2026. Led by the American Library Association, this annual observance highlights the vital role libraries and library professionals play in strengthening communities, expanding access to knowledge, and inspiring lifelong learning.

In honor of this national celebration, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners has issued an official proclamation recognizing the impact of our library system and the essential services it provides to residents every day. From early literacy and workforce development to digital access and cultural programming, libraries continue to serve as inclusive spaces where everyone can learn, connect, and grow.

National Library Week is also a time to celebrate the people who make it all possible. Throughout the week, special days recognize the freedom to read, the contributions of library workers, and the importance of outreach and advocacy in ensuring equitable access to resources.
