Enter the Kingdom of Readmoor: A World of Wonder Awaits at Your Library

This Library Card Sign-Up Month, Fulton County Library System is transforming into the Kingdom of Readmoor, and every one of our 34 branches has a role to play. Your quest is about to begin!

What Is World of Wonder?

World of Wonder is our fantasy world filled with library realms, quests, hidden clues, and collectible rewards. Pick up a printed map, explore your library's realm, complete quests, collect stickers, and unlock special prizes along the way.

A Very Laufey Day

We're honored to share that Grammy Award-winning artist Laufey is this year's ALA Honorary Chair for Library Card Sign-Up Month. FCLS is partnering with Laufey again for A Very Laufey Day and throughout September.

As you explore Readmoor, you'll discover collectible Laufey Library Cards connected to the realms you uncover on the World of Wonder map. There are five regional cards to find, plus one mystery card hidden beyond the map itself, available only at select library Outreach events happening across the system throughout the campaign. Keep an eye on our events calendar for a chance to track it down.

Use your map to uncover the secrets of each card's location! Analyze the artwork and hidden clues to discover more!

Want to Collect All Six Cards?

Explore each region of the Kingdom of Readmore to find every card located in that area! As a bonus, you can uncover a mystery card by attending specific library outreach events. You can also request a Collector's Journal to help you keep track of each card as a keepsake. Please note that you can only activate one card per library account.

Once you complete the quests and earn four stickers, you can collect your first card by visiting the information desk and speaking with a library staff member. After they verify that you have completed the quests, they will give you your stickers and sign off on your map, allowing you to receive your first prize!

Your first four stickers earn you a card! Once you collect eight, you can choose to collect a second card or claim the special edition Kingdom of Readmoor puzzle, available in branches on September 15th!

Common FAQ

How do I collect all the Laufey Cards?

The Kingdom of Readmoor consists of five Library regions: Skyhaven, Lapis Cove, Sunspire, Evergrove, and Capital City. To collect each Laufey card, you must travel to a Library realm in each of these regions. Use your map to find clues about which Laufey card is located in each region.

Additionally, the sixth mystery Laufey card can be obtained at select Outreach events. To see a list of upcoming outreach events, please visit Fulcolibrary.org/Readmoor. (Coming Soon)

Can non-residents participate in World of Wonder and earn rewards?

Yes. Non-residents can participate, complete quests, collect stickers, and earn rewards. They do not need to activate the Laufey Library card in order to receive it. However, if they choose to activate the card for library use, they must pay the applicable non-resident fee, which is $40.

How do the stickers and prizes work?

  • Step 1: Earn 4 stickers to receive your first Laufey card. A library staff member must sign your map for redemption.
  • Step 2: Earn 8 stickers and choose what you would like to earn next: the Kingdom of Readmoor puzzle or more Laufey cards.

  • Earn the Puzzle
    • Step 1: Earn 8 stickers.
    • Step 2: Redeem those 4 stickers for the puzzle beginning September 15.

  • Collect More Laufey Cards
    • Step 1: Ask staff for a Collector’s Journal.
    • Step 2: Earn 4 new stickers to receive Card 2.
    • Step 3: Earn 4 more stickers to receive Card 3.
    • Step 4: Continue earning 4 stickers per card until you have collected all available cards.
  • Participants may also choose to redeem any set of 4 new stickers for the puzzle at any point beginning September 15.
  • Important: Stickers that have already been redeemed for a prize cannot be reused toward another prize.

Do participants have to redeem the puzzle before collecting more Laufey cards?

No. The puzzle quest line is optional! If a participant wants to focus only on collecting Laufey cards, they can:

  • Earn 4 stickers.
  • Redeem their first Laufey card.
  • Immediately pick up a Collector’s Journal.
  • Continue earning 4 stickers for each additional card.
Participants can return to the puzzle quest line at any time, including after they have collected all six cards.

How many stickers can a participant earn during one library visit?

A participant can earn up to two stickers per visit:

  • One library visit sticker for visiting the library.
  • One quest sticker for completing a quest. Only one quest sticker may be earned per visit.
  • Participants can return on another day to complete another quest and earn another quest sticker.

Does picking up a Map of Wonder count as a library visit for a sticker?

Yes. A participant's first visit to pick up a map can count as their first library visit sticker.

How many times can a participant earn a sticker for “Check Out a Book”?

It is one sticker per checkout session, and a participant may complete this quest as many times as they like.

For example, if a participant checks out four books on Tuesday, they receive one sticker. If they return a few days later and check out four more books, they receive another sticker.

Can the same book count toward more than one quest?

Yes, as long as the activities happen across separate visits. For example, a participant could earn a sticker for checking out a book, then earn another sticker on a later visit for logging that same book in Beanstack.

Do participants have to redeem their four stickers at the same realm where they earned them?

No. Participants can earn all four stickers at one realm and wait to redeem them at another. They do not have to redeem where they earned their fourth sticker. For example, a participant who lives near Palmetto could earn all four stickers there, then visit a Lapis Cove branch to redeem them for the Lapis Cove card.

How does redemption for the Outreach card work?

The Outreach card works like any other regional card. If a participant wants the Outreach card as their first Laufey card, they should wait to redeem their four stickers until they attend a qualifying outreach event.

Once four stickers have been redeemed for a Laufey card, those same stickers cannot be used again for another card. If a participant has already redeemed a regional card, they would need to use a Collector’s Journal and earn four additional stickers to receive the Outreach card.

Do participants have to earn bookmarks and postcards?

No. Postcards and bookmarks are extra, free collectibles available while supplies last.
