June is the beginning of Summer Reading. The theme for Summer Reading is Unearth a story and the Year of the Book theme for June is Dig into Discovery.

In the United States there is a holiday called Juneteenth. Juneteenth has a history complete with symbolism. To help kids delve deeper into the Juneteenth holiday, there is a video in Access Videos Just for Kids.
