It is so good to be on the cusp of spring. Although, there is nothing like sitting around in favorite pajamas, by a cozy fire, drinking a great cup of coffee and reading a wonderfully captivating book.
But let’s get to my real point. This is the FCLS’s declared Year of the Book. We invite you to use online resources and to come inside a library and check out tons of books. Yes, tons of books. You are asked to check out a lot of books this year, to read and to share.
There are books for all ages; all interests; all questions; and for all types of inquisitiveness.
If you need some recommendations, staff are ready to help you leave with piles of what can best be called, “reading material.”
One idea to help you track your reading is to make a list and check off those items you have been planning to read. When is there time to make a list? Perhaps when you are awake a long time before dawn or are waiting to pick up someone at school or at the airport, you can at least start the list.
You may have thought about reading a suggested title you heard about on a television program from someone’s book club. Or there may be an upcoming title you can’t wait to read. There are already 10 titles on my planned spring reading list. If I only get to half of them, there’s always summer and fall, because this is the Year of the Book!
Join us at the libraries and make this your best year yet with a book!
