From Scraps to Stories: A Collage Workshop

This Summer, the Buckhead Library welcomed back mixed media artist Denise Gunter for From Scraps to Stories: A Collage Workshop on July 15 at 1:00 PM.

Participants explored collage as a form of storytelling, using layered materials, textures, and found objects to create meaningful works of art in a hands-on and welcoming environment.

We are honored to have welcomed Denise Gunter back to share her love, creativity, and expertise in mixed media art with our community. Over the years, her work has been featured in both solo and group exhibitions throughout our library system, including exhibitions at the Central Library. Her mixed media pieces invite viewers to look beneath the surface, uncovering their stories through color, texture, and layered compositions.

This workshop continues Denise's ongoing artistic partnership with our libraries while giving patrons a chance to learn directly from her creative process. Participants not only created their own collage piece, but also gained insight into the inspiration and storytelling techniques behind Denise's work.
