Homeschool Microsoft Copilot

Today, Kim Campbell, a Microsoft representative, visited the Best Buy Teen Tech Center to teach homeschool kids about Microsoft Copilot, an Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) generator. For this session, the task was to create a motorsports persona and Brand Kit using A.I.

To start off, the kids got on a desktop and went to Microsoft Copilot. As the objective was motorsports, the kids had generated a sports car, a driver, and a flyer event that matched their personality. To do this, they had to ensure the prompt they typed was as detailed as possible. Examples: a blue and green sports car and a pink sports car with red stripes and the number 89 on the side.

Once they all generated their sports car, Kim Campbell showed how Copilot isn’t limited to this session. As anyone can create anything they want. With that being said, the kids proceed to create a wide range of images. Notable examples included a realistic pink bee holding ice cream, a dinosaur holding a flame thrower, and a baby carrot wearing a blue dress. As a finishing touch, they even put their designs on T-shirts.

Afterwards, all the participants gather at the table to discuss what they learn from Copilot. Most of them said patience, as when they enter their prompt, it takes Copilot a while to load the image. In addition, they had to be as detailed as possible when typing in the prompt. Ultimately, the program was a great lesson for the participants on how Copilot works and how they can further their creative ideas.
