Microsoft LinkedIn

Kim Campbell, a Microsoft representative, visited the Best Buy Teen Tech Center (BBTTC) to help teens start their LinkedIn profiles!

LinkedIn is a social media platform for work professionals to network and showcase their career accomplishments. This program provided a great opportunity for teens to get a head start on their career.

With the guidance from Campbell, she showed the teens her profile to give them an idea of how to start their own. While some of the youths were too young to have a profile, as LinkedIn’s minimum age is 16 years old, the program would still be a valuable lesson when they do become of age.

Going around in a circle, Campbell asked each teen what they wanted to be in the future. Many said they wanted to be entrepreneurs, being their own boss. Campbell went on to talk about how social media is a good way to market themselves. With each goal they accomplish, the teens should make a post putting themselves out there. In addition, she gave everyone tips on how to make LinkedIn posts and what to keep an eye on. Ultimately, the program was a success for everyone as a learning experience they can look back on.
