August is National Back to School Month! This observance started in the 1960’s and marks the season when many students start a new school year. However, Back to School Month isn’t just for kids and the library can help learners of all ages reach their educational goals.
If you are looking to complete your GED or other high school equivalency, you have options! The Technical College System of Georgia oversees GED testing in the state, providing a wealth of support to students. If you aren’t sure where to start, take a look at the directory of GED classes offered across the metro area: GED Class Directory. All the classes listed on this page are free!
Additionally, the TCSG offers the HOPE High School Equivalency (HSE) Examination Grant Program for qualifying students. This scholarship offers funding that can completely cover the cost of your GED test. Click the link to see full eligibility requirements: HSE Test 4 Free.
Finally, when you are ready to take your exams, sign up at GED.com. Fulton County Libraries offer 2 testing locations, Central Library and Southeast Library, as well as monthly Saturday testing dates, to ensure that you can find a time that works for you.
