National Brownie Day

December 8th is National Brownie Day and we’re more than ready to celebrate one of the world’s favorite chocolatey treats! Whether you love them fudgy, chewy, cakey, or packed with extras like nuts and caramel, brownies have become a beloved treat to many.

It is believed that brownies got their start back in the late 1800s at The Palmer House Hotel in Chicago. This first iteration of brownies included walnuts and an apricot glaze. Recipes for brownies as we know them today did not start appearing in cookbooks until the early 1900s. There is also a legend that states brownies were first created by a housewife in the town of Bangor, Maine; these brownies were also called Bangor brownies.

While its origin may be disputable, brownies are a classic comfort food—simple, shareable, and endlessly customizable.

Below you will find titles for all things related to brownies and other sweet treats to help you celebrate this special day.
