Summer 2026 has been full of surprises for the Northside Library. From new books to fun performers, the best visit of all has been from Derrick, the wild human-dino hybrid.
Derrick showed up in the middle of the night to surprise the staff and be our Summer Reading mascot this year! We don't know where he came from but he isn't going back anytime soon. He has too many books to read first!
There have been no injuries, but this is a wild animal, so be careful readers! We aren't sure how much longer Derrick plans to hang out with us, but he always makes us laugh playing hide-and-seek. Come to the Northside Library soon to see if you can spot him!
