Picture Book Review: Saturdays Are For Stella by Candy Wellins

Looking for your next read? Check out Saturdays Are For Stella by Candy Wellins, reviewed by Fulco Library staff,Leticia S.

Saturdays Are for Stella is a sweet and heartwarming book. George loves his Grandma Stella. They have the best time together every Saturday. They go to the park, play records, and fight space invaders! One Saturday everything changes and George must learn that even if someone leaves us, they are still in our heart.

This is the debut book from former teacher Candy Wellins. She has done an outstanding job with explaining loss to a child. I admit the book made me cry because it made me think of the many Saturdays I shared with my maternal grandmother. I highly recommend this book for all ages.
