To celebrate its 21st year, Roswell Reads, in partnership with Roswell Cultural Arts and Bookmiser, announces New York Times bestselling author Paula McLain as its featured author for 2026. McLain will be appearing as part of two literary events at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center on Saturday, January 10.
McLain is the internationally acclaimed author of The Paris Wife in addition to five other novels, two poetry collections, and a memoir. Her works have been published in more than 35 countries and have been featured in The New York Times, The Guardian, Town & Country, Real Simple, and elsewhere. Her newest novel, Skylark, will be published just four days before her appearance in Roswell.
Your first opportunity to meet Paula McLain is at 9:30 on January 10 in the Writer to Writer event, in which she will delve into the nuts and bolts of the writing of Skylark, including her historical research as well as her use of a dual timeline to structure the work. Tickets for this event are $15.
Then, at 2:00, McLain will give a talk and answer audience questions about her work with a focus on Skylark. General admission tickets are available for this event for $15, but there is also a $35 option which will include preferred seating, an autographed copy of the book, and a photo with the author.
Skylark is a mesmerizing tale of Paris above and below, where a woman’s quest for artistic freedom in 1664 intertwines with a doctor’s dangerous mission during the German occupation in the 1940s.
