Winter is now in full swing which means Winter Break is coming soon! You can finally relax a bit and take a break from homework assignments, quizzes, and maintaining a hectic daily schedule. Between holiday parties, spending time with family and friends, and sleeping in just a bit, there is a lot a lot to do during Winter Break, but make sure to make some time to relax with some of the resources from the Digital Library.
Grab a blanket, a mug of your favorite warm beverage, and pick out a great movie on Kanopy to enjoy this winter! Kanopy's collection includes thousands of movies and documentaries that can be accessed with your Fulton County Library card and PIN. Check out some of Kanopy's curated collections such as "Holiday Favorites", "From Book to Screen", and "Leading Ladies". You have a limited number of Kanopy tickets each month, but it can be perfect for a weekend night or holiday watch party during Winter Break.
If you are not really a film person and would like to spend time reading or listening, check out the Palace Project. The Palace Project is the Digital Library's newest addition to our e-audio and ebook resources. The Palace Project offers titles with no wait time so if you are waiting for a title in Overdrive/Libby you may wait to check out Palace just it case it is available there too! You can access the Palace Project, also called the Palace app, by downloading the app in either Google Play or the Apple App Store and searching for "Fulton County Library System". Patrons can use their library card barcode and PIN to login and begin reading!
Whenever I have some time off, I get a bit crafty so I am always starting new projects this time of year. Creativebug is an excellent resource for learning how to do something new, brainstorming ideas, or leveling up your skills. Creativebug has video lessons about a variety of crafts including knitting, painting, beading, embroidery, and so much more. Creativebug is also free and accessible with your Fulton County Library card barcode and PIN. Winter break can be your opportunity to create or finish some amazing craft projects.
There are a lot of things you can choose to do over Winter Break along with the Digital Library and only so much time, but whatever you choose to do have fun!
