April was all about programming and software development for the teen participants of CreativX Lab. CreativX Lab is a technology-based program developed by the S.T.E.A.M. advocates at We Create Tech. Teens sharpen their digital media skills and prepare for pathways in technology fields through workshops on AI, engineering, web design, software development, and more.
In week one, they explored GitHub, opens a new window, a Microsoft product that serves as a portfolio for coders and developers. The teens set up their GitHub accounts and began building their portfolios.
In week two, the teens explored Antigravity, opens a new window, a Google product used for software development. The teens practiced coding to create app interfaces. One notable example was Metamorphic a mediation app where users would receive daily affirmations to start a positive day.
In week 3, the teens learned about Figma, opens a new window. They shadowed our teens who are a part of the Best Buy Classic Project Showcase in designing and coding their app. Read more about their project here: Big news from Central Library’s Best Buy Teen Tech Center | Fulton County Library System . Figma is a designing software used to create mobile apps and websites.
In the final week, the teens delved into gaming with Lovable AI particularly with game designing and engineering. Teens got to play Operation Energi, a game design by the instructor Mrs. Shana, and afterwards remix the game to their own likening.
