The Met Gala is held every year at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This is an event that occurs on the first Monday of May and its main purpose is to raise funds on behalf of the Costume Institute, department within the museum. It also marks the opening of the institute’s yearly fashion exhibition. Many might consider this to be one of the most important events to take place in the fashion industry as well. The Met Gala brings together celebrities, designers, and artists who dress according to a specific theme each year; this year’s theme was “Costume Art”. These themes are inspired by the museum’s exhibition and are meant to encourage creativity and dramatic outfits.
