Unearthing Stories with Josie Bailey

Josie Bailey is an extraordinary storyteller and performer. She has spent the last 30 years bringing joy and fun to kids of all ages. In mid-July, Josie performed at the Central Library as as part of the system-wide Summer Reading program. At this storytime, everyone started with Dinosaur by author Olivia Aston Bosworth and illustrator Alex Ferror, a story based on the well-known Alliance Theatre stage play of the same title. Josie paired it with a special dinosaur video and song for everyone to sing along. This book came to be thanks to the Alliance Theatre, GEEARS, PNC, and the Mayor's Summer Reading Club. After reading Dinosaurs, Josie performed her #1 classic - The Selfish Crocodile - a story about kindness and sharing. With her trusty crocodile, other stuffed animal friends, and amazing acting, everyone was able to watch this story come to life. See pictures from this program below (click to enlarge).
