Director’s Blog: August 24, 2020

This comes to you hoping that as we move toward fall, you are coping with other daily changes with a calm resolve.

The Library has made a few changes, because we heard you. Curbside service is now offered at 32 libraries. The hours of operation were changed to Monday and Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Thank you so much for your patience as staff tested just how to provide a meaningful, and contactless way of presenting services and programs amid the pandemic.

Also, the Central Library’s renovation is nearing completion and the Hapeville Library will soon return as a new build. We will keep you updated on the culmination of those two final projects of the Library’s building and renovation plan.

Please know that I hope you are still spending time outside, when possible; and that you are beginning to look forward to cooler temperatures; gold and brown leaves; and hot chocolate or apple cider. If the cool evenings of impending fall begin to call you to the outdoors, take along a book, get lost in a good story. Pull out your phone or other device and read or listen to a good story; or download music or a movie; all free with your library card. Let the Library’s print and online resources help you start making holiday, decorating and cooking plans.

Checkout the Library’s new virtual resources, opens a new window that can assist students of all ages. The Library will continue the daily Streaming Storytime for children, and a myriad of virtual programs for all ages.

Connect as often as possible to www.fulcolibrary.org, opens a new window and stay tuned because the website is getting an upgrade over the next several months.

In the stillness, find a spot, and Resolve to Read, opens a new window
