During the last several months, I’ve pondered a few things. One of those things is the word “choices.” The other is Sir Isaac Newton’s Third Law of Motion: “ For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” While Newton’s law has to do with Physics and force, the truth of it can be applied to everyday life. Our personal relationships and decisions can channel the principle.
Consequently, the way people move through their experiences can impact so many things. Often, when thoughts and actions within daily life push into each other, there must be a response. Choice comes when we consciously decide to narrow a response down to one or two things, mull them over, and decide the outcome.
It seems that being a card-holding library user is a good place to start. Have a look around your neighborhood library. Go there to learn more about the 2026 Summer Reading Program, for all ages, with the theme: “Unearth Your Story.”
This may be a good time to think about your story, and perhaps share it with family and friends. It may move the needle for someone and serve as a catalyst for change. That’s what Newton taught us. It’s all about action!
