Time continues to move forward no matter what we do, or don’t do. All of us have worked hard to revise and revamp our personal and professional lives to meet the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. I hope it has not brought too much upheaval to you, your family and your friends. If just the opposite is your experience, I hope that each day brings glimmers of hope to you and yours.
The observance of Thanksgiving will be upon us in a matter of weeks. As you begin to fill your days with plans and promises, get your reading list in order and put some books, movies and other materials on hold. Curbside service is ongoing at 31 libraries. You want to be ready for any downtime moments that might come your way. Therefore, take some time to check out a bestseller, DVD, audiobook or download books, movies and other virtual materials for your reading and research needs. Just go to www.fulcolibrary.org.
During this time of the year I find myself re-visiting the classics, combing through the works of some of my favorite poets and seeking books on decorating and remodeling trends. I cannot wait to get into that big old comfy chair of mine with a great cup of tea, lean back and get transported to other places, spaces, ideas, and events. It’s not easy to find time for self- indulgence, but it feels so good if you can do so. Block everything else out, close the door if you need to, and read.
Those of us who work at the Library, will continue to bring to you the best there is in the world of books, movies, databases, and all things that may spark your interest in learning and reading.
Challenges may be with us a lot longer than we’d like them to be, however, we thank you for including library patronage on your things to do list. Here’s wishing you all the best, always!
