MALCon: Stop-Motion Animation Workshop Video

On Saturday, April 11, 2026, the Milton Library welcomed the community for our annual MALCon celebration, an all‑day event filled with creativity, imagination, and hands‑on activities. From 10:30 AM to 5:45 PM, visitors of all ages enjoyed fandom‑inspired programs, workshops, and experiences designed to spark learning and fun.

One of the highlights of the day was the Stop‑Motion Animation Workshop, presented by ASIFA‑South. Created for ages 10–17, this interactive session guided young participants through the fundamentals of stop‑motion animation, from understanding frame‑by‑frame movement to building their own animated sequences. Attendees had the opportunity to experiment, collaborate, and discover just how expressive and accessible the art of animation can be.

Below you’ll find the impressive results of the hard work and creativity demonstrated by our young animators, or watch the video on YouTube with sound.

A special thank‑you to ASIFA‑South for leading this engaging workshop and for supporting emerging artists in our community.
